Jim Warne

Community

Engagement Director

Jim Warne is a member of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) Nation and has had a career in higher education. He serves as the Community Engagement Director for Oyate Circle at University of South Dakota, Center for Disabilities, where his focuses on advocacy and leadership in Indian country. Jim is president of his consulting firm Warrior Society Development, LLC, I and is an advocate, educator and motivational speaker. After a career as a professional NFL football player, Jim became an actor and stunt man.  Today Jim is an Emmy nominated filmmaker and has produced several award-winning films.

Pat Herman
Special Projects Planner

Pat Herman is the Special Projects Planner for the Center for Disabilities. During her 10 years at the Center Pat has worked in a variety of areas including community outreach, transition clinic, management, human resources, National Core Indicators, marketing, veterans affairs, employment, and event planning. Pat sits on the boards of Employment Disability Resources, the Rocky Mountain ADA Center Advisory Board, the Disability Awareness and Accessibility Review Board for Sioux Falls, Health Connect of South Dakota, and is a member of the Sioux Falls noon Sertoma Club.

Whitney Jones
Tribal Outreach Coordinator

A member of the
Rosebud Sioux, Whitney resides in Mission, South Dakota. His primary focus is outreach and collaborating with our Tribes and Urban Indians. Whitney is a distinguished
graduate of Sinte Gleska University, holding a Bachelor’s degree in counseling with a specialized emphasis in chemical dependency. Whitney is survivor of Residential Boarding Schools attending from 1976 -1988 both in St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain SD and Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau SD.
